Featured Artist: Georgia Wall

Georgia Wall was born and raised in New York, but is now practicing art in Chicago. Recently graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with an MFA, Wall is better known for creating collaborative short films, combining various disciplines of her performance and visual background. In the series of “Unseen Performances,” Wall flexes this duality, where a group of individuals unfold a story from “a performance that will remain unseen by all others. After these individuals have witnessed the event, they will provide accounts of what they have seen. Their narrative accounts create a new piece of work in which my body is no longer present.”

In Wall’s recent works, she has a heavier overlay of multiple voices narrating the story, bridging onto one another found in  films “I.You.He.She.” or “Quant.” She describes this process as “seeking ways in which a performers physical identity can remain undefined.”

Art Attacks! presented by Rabbit Movers

Art Attacks! presented by the Rabbit Movers is starting next week, on Tuesday, December 19 to be exact, and will be ongoing until May 2012. So where will this showcase take place? And, who are the Rabbit Movers? Well, the initial location has not been determined yet, but typically the venue is located in a gallery space in one of Brooklyn’s art hubs, DUMBO, and then mobilizes traveling throughout the NYC area, sharing art. To answer the latter of the two questions, Rabbit Movers “are impromptu art exhibitions held in our moving trucks-cum-mobile galleries – anything, anywhere, anytime.” They support and expose artists through this form of pop-up art galleries in unexpected places. Once more details for Art Attacks! are released, we will update you with information.

And, if you’re an artist interested in being part of this creative movement, or want to donate to support artists, click here.
