ABLETON LIVE INTENSIVE COURSE
Art for Progress (AFP) is proud to present the first installment of its new music production course offering with an ABLETON LIVE INTENSIVE COURSE. The course will provide comprehensive, intensive instruction of all phases of Ableton Live over an 8 session period with guaranteed results. Each class will be taught by an industry recognized professional with no more than 10 people in each group to ensure you know the software like never before. In addition, AFP is offering one-on-one instruction for those who want more personal attention.
Unlike other expensive options in the NYC market that take months to complete, AFP offers a fast track option that costs thousands less and you’ll be producing your own great tracks in weeks rather than months. How can Art for Progress offer this great opportunity? It’s part of our mission! As a nonprofit charity, AFP works to expand the arts in the community and there’s no better way to achieve this than empowering new artists. We’re dedicated to your success. So, get on board!

LEARNING METHOD
Each 3-hour session consists of a group demonstration and discussion, followed by a detailed explanation of each session’s content. Learning-by-following is a very important attitude/approach to this intensive course. While your tutor is walking you thru each step, you will have to follow and exercise on your own. After that, the tutor will gather your questions and answer them to the whole class. You will be encouraged to exercise with a little home work to sharpen and consolidate your new skills.
INDIVIDUAL ENCOURAGEMENT
Upon demonstrating your command of the necessary skills, you will be encouraged to add originality to your work. Your tutor will facilitate your development of original sound design ideas, which can then be presented to the group. You will receive ongoing feedback, and at the conclusion of each session you can choose to do a take-home exercise to further bring together your new skills.
What happens at the conclusion of the course?
After becoming more familiar with Ableton Live you may like to try advanced classes in sampling or synthesis, discover a new tool for production and performance such as Traktor, Serato, Maschine or perhaps exploring another Digital Audio Workstation such as Cubase, Logic or Pro Tools. All AFP Graduates of the Ableton Live Intensive Course are entitled to a 10% discount on subsequent courses.
OPPORTUNITIES
There are possibilities for all students at AFP through the tutor’s current projects within the music industry including sound design for sample packs, remix work for some of the best known underground labels and more. Depending on your level, creativity and unique talents as an artist.
REQUIREMENTS
All students must bring their own laptop and a headphone to each session. The software will be provided.
REVIEW OF LEARNING PROGRESS
Incrementally, you’ll receive feedback, support and encouragement from your tutor.
FEEDBACK
At the end of the course, you will be invited to leave feedback and evaluate your experience. AFP will compare your evaluation to the information you provide in the first week to refine the course content and delivery methods.
